Make A Planned Gift

There are many flexible planned giving options that can benefit both your financial and philanthropic goals. Some examples may include:

  • Giving through bequests: By including a bequest provision to Gateway in your will, you can support Gateway while retaining control of your assets during your lifetime. Below is sample language to make a bequest to Gateway:

“I hereby give [$_________ / ___% of the residue of my estate / the residue of my estate] to Gateway Public Schools, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, for its general purposes.”

We also suggest including the following official identification information:

Gateway Public Schools
1430 Scott Street

  • Giving retirement assets: By naming Gateway as a beneficiary of your retirement assets (e.g., IRA, 401(k), or other qualified retirement accounts), you may save your estate from paying income and estate taxes on those assets

  • Giving life insurance policies: By naming Gateway as an owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy, you may be able to claim tax deductions for your gift
