On Thursday, March 16, students presented their research on a 20th century social movement (India Freedom Struggle, South Africa’s Anti-Apartheid Movement, and the current Zapatista movement in Chiapas, Mexico) to families and community members.
Students compared these movements to current Bay Area social movements, and shared personal reflections on an injustice they want to fix, how they plan to do it, and what personal qualities are needed to succeed against difficult odds. Students prepared a poster, website, and speech to explain their work.
