Soo Shin (she/her)

Soo was born in Sacramento, CA, raised in South Korea, and studied in the Bay Area. She got her B.A in English at UC Berkeley and her Single-Subject Teaching Credentials from UC Davis and San Jose State. She is currently working on her MFA at the University of San Francisco. She has been a classroom teacher in East Palo Alto for the last 11 years teaching English and Art to all high school grade levels and prior to that, cut her teeth teaching in Sacramento and Oakland. She is a Bay Area food enthusiast (“foodie”), enjoys movies, prestige television shows, the occasional sitcom, video games, drawing, and has been delving into broadening her taste in music. She’s excited to support the incredible staff and students of Gateway High School!
